Sandy

Sandy first learned Bikram Yoga from a book while living in rural Montana as a young mother. She taught herself the postures from Bikram's first book, and found pain relief from shoulder and back injuries and a wonderful adjunct to running. Practicing Bikram's Beginning Yoga Class alone and with friends for many years, she kept a watch as Bikram began to develop his teacher trainings. In 2003, she completed training with Bikram and Rajashree Choudury in Los Angeles, then came to the Seattle area to teach and live near her sons. She purchased the yoga studio and established Hot Yoga of Woodinville in April of 2005. Sandy enjoys managing the studio, teaching Bikram yoga, and practicing with all the instructors and students. Her compassion and interest in each of her students is evident in her mindful approach to teaching.

Audrey

Audrey has been practicing yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2002. Her first yoga teacher certification was with Bikram Choudhury. In 2003 and 2004 she attended Power Vinyasa teacher trainings Level 1 and Level 2 with Baron Baptiste. She has continuously studied locally and with visiting master teachers in various styles. Audrey is passionate about teaching in a way that is equally accessible to all levels beginning through advanced simultaneously. Though teaching in very physical styles, she is also drawn to more passive practices such as Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. One consistent piece of feedback Audrey has always received is about the quality of her voice. Yoga Nidra puts her voice to use in a new way. She has completed both a local training with Laura DeFreitas in Richard Miller’s iRest method and also the Level 1 training with Richard Miller.

Debbie

Debbie has been weaving a tapestry of yoga teachers into her life for 14 years. Her inspiration and learning comes from a diverse group of teachers including Mary Lou Weprin, Bikram Choudhury, Aadil Palkivala, Shiva Rae, Doug Keller, and Lisa Black. It is because of the work she has done with these inspiring teachers that she teaches from joy! Ever-evolving is the art of yoga. As with life, yoga postures are continually moving. You can hold them but are they ever without subtle movements and progression? She will lead you through these physical postures we call asanas and help you to discover and access new avenues using strength, focus, and breath.

Karen

Karen began teaching at Hot Yoga of Woodinville this year, and has been a hard-working student here since early 2007. Karen attended training with Baron Baptiste and Duncan Peak in Govinda Valley, Sydney Australia early this year, bringing both her yoga practice and her life approach to new levels. She has always enjoyed finding natural methods of pain control, fitness management, and stress control, and found all of these when she began practicing Hatha yoga in the mid-1990’s as a complement to running. She uses Hatha and Prana Vashya (PV) as an ideal balance for mind and body strength training. Karen’s management career with Nordstrom prepared her for her current work as a supply chain consultant.

Karen teaches a strong class with a beautiful voice. Look for her on the schedule early Tuesday and Thursday mornings and now on Sundays at 8:00 a.m. for a one-hour power class.

Gaining both spiritual and physical benefit from her practice throughout the years, Pam continues her devotion to yoga through her own practice, meditation and now teaching. With a degree in Behavioral Science, Pam is continually on the lookout for experiences in which physical well-being can affect both emotional and spiritual well-being.
